Public Practice

I am not going to lie in the beginning of the show I was starting to get into it. Once the show went to the first break I was wondering what was going to happen.  Was she going to have the babies, or choose to save her life?  The problem was once it happened again where it went to break after two characters ended a conversation with a cliff hanger I began to get annoyed.  Then it happened again, and again.  I started realizing that they were using their breaks to engage the audience when they weren't on the TV. If I was watching this show at home with someone I would have been talking about what just had happened every time a commercial came on. For me though I was getting annoyed with how the characters all focused on their love lives over the actual patients.  It became so unrealistic that I could barely watch it.  One of the characters patients basically died and she ran downstairs to tell some guy that she loved him then proceeded to go and kiss someone else.  It was a glorified soap opera, everyone was hooking up with everyone and all this was happening in one day at work. I did appreciate how Louisa brought up how she felt about the show.  She felt that the show portrayed it too much but she believed that it was possible that it could happen and it does happen at certain work places. Maybe not as bad but it is possible.  Once she brought that up I was able to look at the show in a different mindset.  I watch certain shows with a certain mindset. I realized that everyone has their own view on how they see certain TV programs.  I was glad that I heard other people's thoughts on how they felt about the show. It gave me a new perspective.
