A new perspective on Barbie

I grew up playing with barbie dolls. I loved barbies. My friends and I would play with them forever in our doll houses. Many questions come up today about whether or not the barbie doll is distorting our views. I think there is something to say about this. Everything in our society is based on being skinny and looking good along with being confident as a women. Advertising plays a huge role in presenting what women SHOULD look like today. Now, playing with barbies, does that effect our youth. I think so. Absolutely. Not only are they seeing these stereotypes in their everyday lives but now it is in their play time. I think this could have dramatic consequences on a little girl. I think that the youth of today are  being corrupted by the idea of what women SHOULD look like. When in reality all shapes and sizes are beautiful.
