It's so interesting to think about how different the points of view on The Cosby Show can be based on the race of the viewer. I guess I never really would have thought about how "white" the Cosby family acted because it wouldn't really matter much to me or wouldn't be apparent to me because they act in a way that seems normal and relatively similar to my own way of living. I have to wonder how people of color may feel about watching shows like the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Do they feel uncomfortable watching it because these women perpetuate the stereotype of white upper class women? And how do they feel about the Real Housewives of Atlanta, a group of wealthy African American women, perpetuating what the upper class looks like? I guess it's just interesting to think about how race and different sections of your identity affect your viewing of what a show's message is.
