Celebriality

For the most part people follow a day-to-day routine and avoid things that they don't think to be normal. This isn't everyone but I feel it is how the majority of people go about their day. People who are noticed by the media for doing things that are out of the norm slowly become celebrities and star for reasons i don't understand. People like Honey Boo-Boo, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and others have made their claim to fame by doing idiotic and ridiculous stunts that the majority of people would dismiss and not care about. But for some reason the media takes these people and give them shows, publicity, and glorify them for "accomplishments." I for one find this to be pollution to our society, as they do not contribute the slightest bit of anything that is valuable in my mind. They are idolized by people and treated like heroes for things that anyone can do. These people are shameless and are not worth the time of day. People who are overseas doing work for the people of third world countries are worth the media coverage. New breakthroughs in science and technology are worth the coverage. How about educating the majority of people what is actually happening in our government? Things like these are worth the media coverage but don't get it because we have celebrities that have contributed zero to society taking the spotlight.
