Pretending to be a Kardashians.
As a child when my friends and I would play dress up and act as our favorite idols, my personal favorite was Hillary Duff. When I was obsess with her she was on Lizzie McGuire and had an album out. Now I don;t know how she gained her fame but I do know she was/is talented. I mentioned this because 9 years later I see my nieces and her friends playing dress up and idolizing The Kardashians. As they act as their idols I can't help feeling sad. When I would play we would act as actors; we would pretend if we were on television shows and/or on a stage singing our lungs out. Now, when they play they act as if they are the Kardashians and what do they do? NOTHING. They pretend to go shopping, deal with the media and live a lavish life without any effort. I am not saying that the Kardashians didn't make any effort, because they took a situation and learnt how to make a profit and create a business. However they rose to fame by being untalented. It's a shame that they have become huge celebrities by just being celebrities, it's not like they are talented actors or singers and their show reflects that life and personal life. It's literally about nothing and doing nothing, going out to eat, dealing with their dramatic family and friends. So why are we obsess with them? What did producers see in them, that made them so important? And why do little girls now want to be like them?
