Gap filling is fun when you're not alone.
Gap filling is such a fun concept to me, honestly. I do acknowledge that I absolutely HATE commercials, I still find it fun, BUT only when I’m with other people because I get to have a discussion about my anticipations and what I hope to see in the episode. Now if I’m alone, gap filling would be an annoyance. But on that note, the activity we did while watching Private Practice was intriguing because I got to see where my mind goes while watching a media text. I didn't see much of a progression of what I thought throughout the episode because I was more focused on the cases and less about the drama between the doctors. And on the cases, I was right about both of them (the little girl had schizophrenia and parents flipping out and that something awful was going to happen to the woman caring the triplets) but if I were to do this activity for another show, Glee for example, I know that my pretension side would have a lot of different thoughts and expectations. I would definitely see a progression on that side. I think it has to do with how invested a person is on the TV show, because with this show it’s the same old boring narrative to me. That is why I’m not so invested on medical or crime dramas because I think that the cases make the show and not the drama, although I don’t think I can say the same for Bones because I just can’t help, but love the drama between the characters.
