Hope by sitcoms
In the world of sitcoms class is a rare issue. And those who are portrayed as middle class or working class only on occasion do they face the hardship of their economic status. Why is this? It is no more than comic relief. We don't turn on television to see people like us (most of America) go through the same things we go through. No, we turn it on to laugh. To make us feel better and see our class in a better shape, a happier one. To give us hope that we can too be like them. We can live away from the hardships and we can be happy. Sitcoms are an optimistic side of the middle and working class, the side we all want to be on.
