When looking at the prominent shows in the genre of comedy the use of satire seems to reign supreme. These shows use satire in order to convey a special message that reveals a meaning. Often the television show would criticize something or someone in some way in order to bring the laughs.
Although, these shows are "bashing" their subject it isn't meant to take offense. Shows like Workaholics and The League could be considered to both use crude humor. The type of content in both of these hilarious shows use a number of the techniques; especially exaggeration and incongruity. For instance, the show The League is very overly exaggerated simply by the outlandish things said and events that happen. When the show Workaholics often blends in a type of parody without it being known. It's just the sheer weirdness of the characters that naturally just bringing it out. That being said, the use of satire is still very present today.
