A Few Questions...

I have always wondered, why do people care about certain celebrities? I am talking about people like the cast of Jersey Shore, Paris Hilton (at one point), the Kardashians, etc. Sure, I follow along with what certain celebrities are doing in their respective careers, but I don't care that so and so is on People magazine, or that this person is marrying that person. Maybe it's just my cynical nature, but I don't get the point to caring about celebrities personal lives, or reading magazines like People, Us, or whatever. Why should I care that Beyonce is/was (I don't know) pregnant? I just don't get the appeal, sorry. I'm not disrespecting anyone who does, I'm just wondering why this has become a thing?
